Vendor Profile: Plush Knits

Meet Aimee of Plush Knits. She has been bringing high quality yarns, knitting needles and knitting patterns to the market this season and providing knitting circles behind her booth. Get to know her better in this week's Vendor Profile.

P.S. If you start learning to knit now, your holiday gift giving will be sooo much easier (and fun)!

Who are you, where are you from and how are you known at the market?

My name is Aimee King and I am originally from New York. Most people call me the yarn girl which I think is great.

How did you get started in your business and what is your future vision?

I started my business because the Fiber Arts are my passion. I love that crafts make people come together and share. Women and Men alike are such amazing artists. Its so special to see people creations.

I hope to have a local storefront which can service the DMV area featuring yarns I have grown to love. I would like to have a place where we can teach and share techniques to with newbies and the more advanced crafter.

Why do you do what you do? What is so special about your business?

I spent a few years meeting and visiting local yarn farms and abroad to hand pick yarns that I thought would be ideal for my customer. I want them to have a great quality yarn made by people who are as passionate about the fiber arts as I am.

What is your favorite thing about FSM??

Meeting the customers who come to visit the market. I enjoy meeting all the avid knitters and crocheters who come and ask questions. Its nice to see such a vibrant community in Silver Spring.

Keep up with Plush Knits on Facebook and Twitter!
